Save the Date - X-mas Party
Citizens!
Please all mark down Saturday, 6 December 2008, in your calendar as we will have our traditional X-mas party then!
The day coincides with our last league games of 2008 (Summer Palace playing Azzurri at 10am and City playing Celtics at 4pm) and no one has to play on Sunday. No excuses.
Party will likely start at 7 or 8pm. More details, including venue and dress code, will follow as the date approaches.
Cheers,
Jochen

Voting Description
| MAN OF MATCH VOTING | DONKEY VOTING |
|---|---|
| Simon Ross - Our defence, midfield and attack | Big Jim - Screaming like an upset mother who had to do all the housework at half timeq |
| Simon - Hello of goal | Jmbo - Should be a motivation speaker rather than a footballer |
| Alex - Solid | Jim's half time tantrum |
| n/a | This postal vote is for Jochen for his abuse of my phone and not admitting to it. Use your own phone to tell of your true feelings |
| Mike - for all of his sideline advice, brilliant to listen to | Mike - same as above! |
| Jason - good saves | French coach for screaming '3 minutes to go' for about 10 minutes |
| Jason for save | Alex for throw in |
| Stefan - Pretty safe during the whole match [even tho he only played one half of it, Alex] | Jimbo - All that shouting does not help at all |
| Matt - he seemed to be the only one battling | Jim - fuck me! what a half time speech! |
| Simon's goal and Jason's save | Jason Muhl for wanting to spoon you and you and German Shepherds AND Jim for inspiring half time talk |
| Simon's excellent run from defence through midfield and going on to score a goal. Great man of the match moment | Scared of losing a potential donkey award after Jim's outburst at half time, he did his best to regain the title by bounching a ball off their player, twice. Well done Alex |
| Matt - Good spirit and great player | Luca - Bad performance |
| Rafa - running the semi-marathon then coming to play and giving 100% | Luca, Jochen, Blythe, aka Mr Kim, Mr Lee and Mr Park - keeping it 'homo-tastic' with their matching t-shirts |
Training Today Tuesday 21st
Good morning City,
First of all, great job for Palace last weekend, the guys put together a great team performance and got the first victory of the season…fantastic job!
More unlucky the city boys who were defeated for the first time this season by a very well organized French LE.
No problem lads you will be back strong!
Today training! Tuesday 21st, 8-10pm at Lido pitch, I hope to see many of you for a good training session.
See you tonight

RUSSIA FOOTBALL / WEDDING PARTY
Hello Lads,
I have just heard that some of the Summer Palace squad are likely to be attending Birchy’s wedding this Saturday to get drunk with him and his wife once again on bijou. We have a football match vs Russia scheduled for Saturday morning at 11am which clashes with the wedding.
Had we planned further in advance (FC that is, not Andy as his invite was made more than month ago) we could have requested a Sunday match on this day, but it is too late now as a minimum 10 days notice must be given.
I need to know urgently if you will be attending Andy’s wedding. Actually Andy and Mei need to know an idea of numbers as well.
WEDDING 10.00 - 14.00
FOOTBALL 11:00 - 13:00
Summer Palace vs Russia United at Chaoyang Stadium
We’ll meet at the ground at 10:30 and for those of you who want to share a taxi, we’ll leave from Frank’s at 9:50AM – wow an early start.
Please reply urgently so we can get an idea what is going to happen.
Cheers,
Pikey

Lads,
if you wish to leave your emergency details (preferred hospital, insurance details, contacts, etc.) with the club management to have this information readily at hand in case something happens on the football pitch, please fill in the form, available for download from Downloads/EmergencyDetails
Obviously, we hope that nothing will ever happen and this is only a precaution.
It’s no requirement to provide details, but only an offer. Reply this this email if interested; otherwise we assume that you are good as there won’t be reminders.
Cheers,
Jochen
Summer Palace vs Italy FC on Sunday at 12pm
Hello Citizens!
As French Patrick is a way for most of October I’ll be doing his secretarial work. Captain Rob is still here for the all important tactical decisions..
Having just had the National Day Holiday break I trust you’re all feeling fresh and ready for a decisive match in the new Stadium. Here are the details …
Italy FC vs. Summer Palace
Sunday 12th October
We’ll meet at Pitch 11:20 AM for warm-up and team talk
Kick-Off at 12 PM NOON
CHAOYANG STADIUM
We’re back at Chaoyang Stadium which further east of Chaoyang Park, close to 5th Ring road. We’ll be leaving from Frank’s Place at 11AM SHARP. If you’re not at Frank’s before 11am, we’ll go without you. If you’re not at the pitch by 11:30AM you won’t be included in the starting line-up.
PLEASE REPLY NOW IF YOU’RE AVAILABLE … yes or no in the subject line is enough.
I’ve sent you an SMS message as well so contact me if I don’t have your correct number (Kieran for one example)
We’re playing Italy which is going to be a hard game so let’s be focused and go out Friday night rather than Saturday night, then we’ll be able to celebrate with a few beers after the match as well!
Directions
If you’re going direct to the pitch, drive east out of the City along Chaoyanggongyuan Nan Lu, pass 4th Ring road bridge, continue along Yaojiayuan Lu and you will dip under the railway line and then pass a New Car Exhibition Centre. You will then see the Chaoyang Sports Centre on the left hand side. Go into the main entrance and approach the stadium with the golf driving range on the right. We don’t play in the Stadium, but on the practice pitch to the left hand side.
You will remember the pitch as having a running track around it and no barriers, so if any of you know any ball girls (or boys) they’ll be very useful!
