11 A-SIDE NEWS
We still have a game left in the League, against the Strollers but after
winning against Vikings we are secured a place in the Division One again next
season. It has been a turbulent season for our first year in Division One but
we are continually improving. Aside from the League, we have reached the final
of the IFFC CUP after beating Strollers 3:0 in the Semi-Final at the beginning
of May. This Sunday, 27 May, will be our first Cup Final - it is against
Afrika FC. Kickoff will be at 15:30 at Lido Side Park. Well Done and Good Luck
for the future!
5s MID-WEEK COMPETITION
Congratulations to Forbidden City for winning the title in the Club Football
5 a-side Division Two once again! We are competing two teams in the Summer
Competition, starting on Tuesday 15th May.
CITY "B" WIN
Congratulations to the "B" squad for playing and winning their first
match yesterday. It was a convincing 3-1 win (although the Drifters showed up
with 8 players and had Marcus and Jonny play with them) The most important thing
is that everyone had a fun and a good laugh. It was great seeing Phil "I'm
expanding my egg business" Bartley back on the pitch. Also, it's also worth
mentioning Harun's golazo. Nice shot from 40 meters out into the upper corner!
We do plan to have 2 more "B" team friendlies this spring.

TOUR NEWS: A small group of us, namely Alex, Kenny, Tobias and Pikey, together with the Peking Strollers travelled to the Far Easter Bangkok 11 a-side tournament and had a great laugh, although some of our football was terrbible (blame it on the combination of beer, sun and late nights!) |
IFFC have been approached by the Asian Amateur Football Confederation to take part in the Diadora Asian Amateur Champions Cup 2007 - read more about it here
As is City tradition, we took part in the Shanghai 7's tournament at the end of August 2006. Plenty of fun off the pitch, but we played poorly on the field. The Forbidden City 5 a-side also put in a tream for the Sexy FC 10th Anniversary tournament in September, but our keeper switched teams after 5 minutes and everyone else was desperately hungover! The Sexy faithful would have been proud. The before and after party at Frank's was definitely the highlight.
2006 / 2007 SEASON:
