Forbidden City Football Club were born in Summer 2004 with
the idea as a touring side from a mix of clubs over Beijing.
The Shanghai
Sevens tour at the end August 2004 was a lot of fun
and we rounded the weekend off by WINNING THE PLATE
!! This is now proudly displayed in the Tree Bar
in Beijing. A sign of future City success?

Forbidden City were invited by ODC Media
to take part in the 2005 MasterCard Beijing Community Cup,
organised by
China Club Football. With the addition of a female player
to our squad we qualified through the group stages and reached
the quarter finals. Played at Beijing Gongti, you can read
more about the event at Clubfootball.
A mixed bunch from a few teams in Beijing
flew in to Bangkok for the 23rd Far East Football Tournament
over the weekend March 26th 2005. Humidity, an assortment
of players (average age around 36.6) and Bangkok's nightlife
meant over the two days we only managed 8th Place in the
Cup Competition.
In the summer 2005, we flew down to Shanghai
again for another tournament at Tianma country club. This
was a one day event hosted by Shanghai Krouts which left
us more time to see the City. Even though, the night before
we didn't make it further than Judy's bar and with Shanghai's
humidity playing a part on our hangovers, we didn't do too
well in the tournament. Saying that it was a lot of fun
and really well organised by ze Germans.

On our few tours away there has been a lot of interest
in other Asian teams coming up to Beijing for a weekend
or partying and football. Late August or September seems
to be the best time of year to hold a tournament in Beijing,
and we hope to get ourselves organised in the next year
or two to welcome a host of Asian football teams to an event
in Beijing. In the mean time we hope to sample a few other
tours around Asia. Contact
us if you are interested to being a team to Beijing's
Forbidden City or are hosting a tournament around China
or Asia.
