Citizens,
Fantastic job on Sunday, I thought we showed some good stuff on and off the ball for the first hour and should have realistically put a few past them. the last 30 minutes were tough though, so make sure you head to training, 5s, the gym etc…lets keep this up!
Coming up this Sunday, another big game against the Strollers.
When: Sunday 2pm
Where: Lido
Are you available? Please RSVP Now!
See you in training
Cheers,
Philippe
Hello All,
While we at Forbidden City bombard you with emails, delete the rest, this is the most important!
The Easter weekend of April 6th 2012 is the German All Stars 11 a-side (and 7 a-side veterans) football tournament in the delightful city of Bangkok. We will be taking a full squad of footballers and party-goers.
So for those:
- Poor students: start saving those Renminbi to convert into 5 times the amount of baht.
- Busy executives: book the time off work, or even better, book a work trip to Bangkok the week before.
- Under the thumb: start making the excuses to the wives and/or girlfriends and promise her lot’s of nice things (even a week’s holiday on a Thai beach starting on Monday 9th April!).
- Ex-Beijinger’s: come and meet up in Bangkok for the weekend, you can’t have a better excuse (especially a short hop from Hong Kong, Phuket or Singapore – you know who you are!).
All are welcome for a great weekend of football and partying (and even some like Philippe may bring girlfriends too).
Save the Date!
Get involved!
Yours,
Pikey
Tour Captain

Morning Campers.
The 11 a-side football season starts in one month and there are cup matches and other stuff even sooner than that. So your lazy summer break is officially over … pre-season training starts in force this Wednesday 3rd August. It will be the same set-up on Wednesday 10th August as well.
What : Club training, led by Ally – a good mix of fitness, ball work and match play. It will be fun.
When : Wednesday, 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM, be there at least 20 minutes in advance to maximise time on pitch and loosen up properly.
Where : New 9-a-side pitch at Chaoyang Park.
Why : To get fit, no excuses.
Wear : It’s fake grass so decent training shoes, but not wet studs/cleets.
Worth : As usual it will cost between ¥ 20 to ¥ 30.
Weather : it’s not going to rain.
What else : Probably a beer or Sprite afterwards to chat about holiday romances.
Gate 7 is the normal 5-aside gate at Chaoyang Park East. Go in the main entrance for the car park, walk to the bike shed, then turn right. The 9-aside pitch is 50 metres along on your right hand side.
Please reply yes/no so Ally can get an idea of numbers to properly organise the session.
Cheers,
Pikey

City made it to the Final!!!
A tough game against a much improved Vikings side saw City dominate in the 1st half score two goals and then rely on penalty wizard JDorey to secure a well deserved place in the IFFC Thomas Marechal Cup Final!!!!
Ally Russell and Adam Ferry were the 1st half goal scorers
MOM: JD for his massive double shot stop on the penalty!!!
DOM: Philippe (I’m starting to see a trend here) for giving away a pathetic penalty.
See you Sunday!
City!

Hey guys,What a game on Sunday!! A hard fought battle, with nerve racking moments and a bit too much shouting (heavily including myself here), that keeps us on top of the table with now a 5 point lead.(Afrika have a game in hand). Nice work out there even if at times we didn’t quite play as we wanted to/can. Importantly, we once again showed immense character and kept at it for the entire game. This week another great game awaits us, we take on Afrika on Sunday 1pm Lido. For good measure and solid preparation I’ll be asking you to make it to the pitch by 12pm. So can you make it? are you AVAILABLE? please RSVP NOW.Thanks guys and see you in trainingyou know it…There’s only one Forbidden City!PhilippePS: if you’ve received Patrick’s email for Saturday please answer if you can play both games / available for one or the other etc… Patrick, Ben and I will then decide on both teams for the weekend. Thanks
